The reactive sometimes explosive and sometimes numb brain! What to do. Friends accuse you of being anxious, fearful and difficult to be around. It's easier to hide inside not go out or be around people. When you are around people you are accused of being anti-social. " Why don't you smile?" What is wrong with her? What's wrong with him?If you have been diagnosed with PTSD its a difficult situation. You are dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. No matter how hard you try its as if your brain is broken. You repeat situations which remind you of the original trauma or trauma(s) You are reactive to triggers that you don't always understand or worse not aware of.You try to control triggers that you are aware of but fail!How does one regulate? Do I meditate daily hourly? Do I walk around the block several times a day? The first step is awareness Am I angry? Do I feel like I need to get away or get into a conforntation? Fight flight response?Do I want to give up, avoid or procrastinate the situaiton Freeze response?Neither of these reactions are going to go well for me.Awareness of Hyper verses Hypo is in important first step to gaining control of the PTSE or reactive brain.
